The must-see museums in Rouen
The city of Rouen has many museums, but if you have to choose, we invite you to visit the Musée des Beaux-Arts. It presents one of the most prestigious public collections in France and offers a complete panorama of European artistic production from the 15th century to the present day. It includes masterpieces by Rubens, Caravaggio, Velázquez, Poussin, Le Sueur, Monet, Géricault, Delacroix, Corot, Gustave Moreau, Degas, Modigliani, Dufy... the list is long and the signatures prestigious.
Don't wait for a Norman rain shower to take shelter, enter as soon as possible, this museum is radiant!
The city of Rouen is inseparable from the tragic fate of Joan of Arc. Condemned to the stake on 30 May 1481 in Rouen, then the capital of the Duchy of Normandy under English possession, the city now houses a space retracing the incredible epic of this heroine of French history, war leader and saint of the Catholic Church. Located in the buildings of the archbishopric, the Joan of Arc Historial offers an original multimedia scenography immersing the visitor in the history of the saint until her condemnation.
