Getting lost in the historic heart of Rouen
Rouen: a beautiful city to discover during your hotel stay
The heart of Rouen: a dive into French history
Inspiring and cultural, this thousand-year-old city in which our hotel is located, offers a real dive into French history. The atmosphere of the narrow streets of old Rouen is unique. It is home to real treasures such as the rue Saint-Romain and the rue du Gros-Horloge. The first pedestrian street in France, it boasts one of the oldest mechanical clocks in the world. Its golden dial is as spectacular as it is emblematic. Not far from there, your steps will surely lead you to the Palais de Justice. This 15th century gothic jewel houses the oldest Jewish monument in France: the "Maison Sublime", a rabbinical school built in the first decade of the 12th century. Also not to be missed: the Place du Vieux Marché for its friendly atmosphere. You might want to take the time to discover the oldest inn in France, opened in 1345.
Full of history, Rouen is the city where Joan of Arc was burnt at the stake, it is also the city where Corneille and Gustave Flaubert were born: a fascinating city.
Not to be missed in the town centre:
